I'm a college senior (Bus. Mgmt. major), but I also work on Ft. Knox, KY and have the honor of interacting with the troops all day. I tell anyone who is about to deploy, do what you have to to make it back. I have two uncles who have done tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and a co-worker whose husband just deployed to Afghanistan. Being a college student is much easier than going through what the troops as well as their families have to endure.

Also, the PTSD comment was really just ignorant by the student. With what I read with causes of PTSD, you have a good chance of developing it without ever going to war.

Reminds me of a story my MGysgt told about when he was arguing with his brother, who went the college route, over politics and his brother was saying things he felt was real ignorant. His retort, and conversation ender, was "that just goes to show they let just about anybody go to college"

I'm pretty sure you could have the same conversation with half the civillian population, not just college kids.
