With the Littoral Combat Ships going through trials now, it is a good time to discuss what are the best ships in their classes in the world?
The best sub in the world? Before exercises between the USN and the Swedish Navy, I would have said the Sea Wolf or other American nuclear sub, but ever since the HMS Gotland evaded our most advanced subs and sunk our most advanced carrier while under full escort, the Gotland class sub is the best in class of our time. Disagreements are welcomed.
There are interesting developments in the corvette and fast attack classes. The Visby class corvette and Skjold class patrol boat looks like nothing the USN has. Stealthy, quiet and fast, how do they compare to our best frigates?
