I am currently separtated from my spouse, and we are doing a uncontested divorce. I am wanting to know what she has to do after the divorce is finalized as far as Medical coverage for her. I know my children are going to be covered but far as my spouse what should she do? And how does she get on base for my children to go to the doctor after her ID card expires? Can she get on with my childrens ID? I would just take them but Im moving out of state due to the military and will be gone for 5 years. We are not using a lawyer because we are working the issues out and both of us cant afford one anyway. Any information would be helpful.

Your wife will have an ID card, but it will be a limited card....to get on and off base. No PX, no nothing....

Best thing to do is call the ID section and ask them, this way you get the most current information....from the people you will be getting the card from ....

This is good advice. I would also contact the legal office where you are currently stationed and speak with them to make sure you have everything covered.
