I am currently a senior in college plus I am in ROTC. I just found out I need 1 more college course, therefore I cannot graduate and commission. What do you suggest, I am heartbroken

You have to be very self-motivated and kind of teach yourself. If you have good online teachers that treat your work the same as they would with a live school, there really shouldn't be any discrepancies with learning online. But yes, they can afford to be picky. With the economy everyone is trying to join the military for job security and a steady pay check.
You don't have to understand. If he doesn't want to follow the rules for the Air Force, he should move on and try to join another branch. Oh wait, that's right. It's the military, they all have rules and standards.

But as others have stated it's very competitive right now. There are more people wanting in and they standards are higher. So he (you?) retakes a couple of classes? He should get on with it. Whining isn't helpful.

Why would you come here looking for a different answer? The recruiter has no reason to lie. Their JOB is to recruit.

If you were in the POC portion of ROTC you'd know that it was required that you graduate before the end of the fiscal year. I had 5 credit hours needed (my fault) to graduate before I could be commissioned. I was able to knock them out during the first summer session (they were technical electives, not core classes and therefore flexible) and was commissioned in July instead of May. Are you a contract/scholarship cadet? I was. Things haven't changed significantly since I was commissioned during the Reagan administration (you fellow older-timers know how great that time was) and those contract cadets who could not finish college or maintain GPA were sent to Lackland for Basic and spent one tour as enlisted.

LYNNMARISA: Rather than enlist (no pun intended) the help of an on-line forum, I strongly suggest going to your admin staff and PAS at the ROTC detachment and conferencing with officer accessions at Maxwell; time is short if all you need is an elective.

I got a HS diploma from Ernest Saloom Academy but it is not registered with the board of education and Im not sure if it is accredited. It is not an online school however. Does my diploma have to be from an accredited HS to be eligible to join the Air Force?

Not anymore. Now we'll take GED and online high schools if you have a 65 on the ASVAB. If you can't score that high on the ASVAB, you will need 15 college credits to join.
