The secret to any restaurant is to just hang out at the bar...Usually every 10mins a few seat open up...Than simple eat at the bar...Much better IMO than waiting 90mins...
i've never been a huge applebee's fan, but i have to give props to them and other companies that have done similar things for the vets.
i went yesterday; my wife and i met a friend of mine and his wife there. him and i are both marines. we met an iwo jima marine there. that was the highlight of my day.
i get choked up every time i start thinking about the vets that have gone on before me, whether marine corps or otherwise.
to those of you that have served honorably, and especially to those that served through such times as wwI, wwII, korea, vietnam, and others, you have my respect and my salute. it is because of the quality men and women vets that i knew as a kid that i decided to enlist in the usmc.

The bottom line is they do it for the tax break...On the positive side they have many choices in getting that tax break from donating to cancer research to feeding the homeless. I'm very happy Applebees top brass chose the military
Got to Applebee's at about 7PM and finally started eating at 9PM. Didn't know about the "All Day/Everyday 2 for 1 Drink Special". Wife and I passed the time drinking a couple of Bud Light's and yacking with a fellow former Navy guy/his girlfriend. Their 7oz Top Sirloin Dinner was awefully good! Not as many Vets at Applebee's as at Golden Corral last night. Wore my Navy baseball cap, all the proof I needed! No line at Golden Corral at 6:30PM! Went right in, got our drink and paid for wife's dinner. Due to lack of seating, did share a table with another couple (husband, former Navy). Very nice conversation. We love Golden Corrals food!
