Hey all,

Anyone have experience going into geospatial intelligence?

Been thinking about enlisting.. probably going to go talk to a recruiter later this week.

Interested in either that or cryptologic linguistics. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

For the geospatial side of things, it ties into what I'm already doing. In college studying geographic info systems, gps technology and remote sensing (satellite images, infrared.. etc). I like it a lot, and I'd like to think I'm doing pretty well with it.

The crypto one is just something I've always been interested in. Have always had a weird fascination with languages, hah.

I have some experience with GEOINT. It's a great subdiscipline within AF intel. The Air Force with it's air/space/targeting focus has a huge appetite for GEOINT so you will be busy if you get into it.

I am in the NAVY as a Cryptologist (Reserves) and work in the GEOINT field for my Civilian job. Love them both! Great pay, good career path. Hope you have a TS/SCI clearance, or you are in for a long wait! Tons of these jobs in the Denver/Boulder area, as well as Colorado Springs. Second only to DC in total number if Intel jobs!
