Props for Nightwish though.
dont underestimate the spetznaz. their training is in fact quite brutal, even compared to what the seals go through.

I think that's how:
-Harshness of training
-Successful ops
-Technology savvy
We spend a gazillion times more money on our special forces than anybody else (we actually spend a gazillion times more money than the rest of the world combined). With that kind of investment, they damn well better be the best in the world.

All of these troops are highly trained and very good at what they do. That they have to do their thing illustrates the complete failure sensible men to remain sensible.

ugh, not one of these damn threads

I'd say US, British, and Russian are the top three. German GSG9 and French GIGN are also effective gendarmerie units.

It's not a good demonstration of the skill, but it shows what kinda training they go thru. Like a Russian GRU instructor said once, the fighting skills will not help much cause if the person has to resort to start using them, it means he is out of bullets, out of guns, out of anything handy, naked, and it means the mission was failed and the whole squad was killed. Not a very likely scenario, BUT these kinda people are Earth's supermen, and they have to be able to do anything in any situation. Besides, that instructor also said that it builds their pain tolerance and self confidence greatly so a soldier will overall perform better in other tasks that don't require hand to hand combat.
So it's not only for a ninja showoff show.

when you want the absolute best, send in the Legion.

US special forces would puke in training from the stuff that the Legion does.

US Special forces DO puke actually during training, matter fact they cover their puke with dirt too so nobody can track them.
