Just for your information, if you are 100% P&T and get your dental care at the VA, budgetary "constraints" now dictate that you can't get your teeth cleaned but once a year without a note from a periodontist. At least, that's the case in the Dallas VA, so I assume it's nation-wide. Unfortunately for those of us with periodontal disease, we must get a referral TO the periodontist from the hygienist who cleans our teeth! Some of us have to have our teeth cleaned every 3 or 4 months to stave off inflammation and if you're one of us, you now may have to wait up to a year to get in to see the hygienist to get a referral to the periodontist.

I don't know about y'all, but I think I'll complain about this. By the time I go through all that, I may not have any teeth left to clean.

Also, if VBA/VR is paying for you to go to school, you are eligible for dental at the VA, even if you are not 100% SC. Your VR counselor faxes over a waiver for you to have services. FYI.

No. I'll see the patient rep on Tuesday. That's usually as far as you need to go.

The Dallas VA Dental Care pretty much sucks all around. Besides pulling teeth what else are they good at?
