I am still "shocky" but I need help. Nephew hit by gunfire and schrapnel on Sunday. Injuries extensive but non-life threatening.
His "hut" was hit and burned to the ground and he lost everything. He is doped up but keeps talking about Oakley sunglasses (non-prescription) he lost during the assault. They were all black, black lenses and had very wide arms. Best I can find is they may be Oakley Ballastic 2.0.
Questions. Are these Army issued or do we need to find a way to financially replace them. Is anyone familiar with these glasses? We currently have little contact with him but he keeps talking (slurring) about his Oakleys.
Any help appreciated and I hope I am not breaking any TOS.
Have you considered contacting Oakley directly. Google brings up the corporate site with "contact us" options.
I did contact them, Threestep. They were so very kind and are trying to help find out what glasses they are but if they are Army issued then he may be able to get them replaced through there.
Honestly, I'm so rattled I don't know if I'm making much sense.

Sorry.
Explain to them that a wounded soldier keeps talking about thier sunglasses and ask them to donate some.
Oakley Military sales is one place to find them. However, his supply system can also get him ballistic eyewear, though it will be SES. I have no doubt his supply sergeant has ballistic eyewear on hand as it is required to be worn out on patrol.

Thank you for your kind response, ArtyGuy. I will look into that tomorrow.
