Joining ANY of the five military branches is a wise decision! Let the civilians have their fun but those of us that have served know better.

There was a phrase in that video that was distinctly in error.

"Co-ed showers"

As far as I am aware nearly all US Navy vessels that have co-ed crews also have separate berthing and shower facilities.

The only class of vessel where this is not so is onboard Ohio/Trident submarines. Technically Tridents have five heads, and each of those heads have from one to two shower stalls. [A CO/XO head with a shower, a wardroom head with a shower, a chiefs head with a shower, and two crew heads each with two showers]. Tridents were designed to already have plenty of living space for co-ed crews, including separate heads with showers.

Crew berthing is already divided into nine-person bunk rooms. Two crew heads are located on that level, with one on either end of the passageway. All we need to do is label one of those heads 'Female', and the transformation would be complete.

But the method that congress finally decided to use to begin putting females onto Tridents has been for the females to only be officers. As officers they share the wardroom head with it's one shower stall, along with the subs other officers.

You will not find anything remotely like 'co-ed showers' on any US Naval vessel.

Default I don't think so!

You DO realize they were spoofin', right? Co-ed showers? You'd have to be nuttzo! Esp. in a submarine no less!

The navy's good though. Esp. when you realize that, even if everything else is toasted up top, including your family and friends, you might well be the last resort for payback if you are sitting in a big ol' boomer Trident loaded with an array of Final Solution Devices...

I'm just sayin'... Go git 'em Navy! (And this from an old Army guy no less!)

During the gulf war I remember seeing a joke in the Stars and Stripes. It showed the army guys sweating balls in the sand, then they cut to the Navy where an officer is reading the weather forecast for the day. The officer states they expect heat in excess of 100 degrees and high humidity. The officer turns to the chief and says, guess we might have to turn the AC up a little bit today!!!

Folks - this is a joke, so take it easy. That being said, the juxtaposition of the Geico Caveman with the Army was pretty funny That could easily be the basis of an another entire spoof...
