"The mother of a Nottingham soldier who died in Afghanistan has said she "burst into tears" after a US warplane was named after her son.
L/Cpl Kieron Hill, 20, from Clifton, was killed by a Taliban bomb while on patrol in Helmand Province with the 2nd Battalion the Mercian Regiment in 2009.
The plaque in his honour has been put on an F-18 jet, part of the US fighter squadron, which is based on the USS Abraham Lincoln.
Vicki Holmes, L/Cpl Hill's mother, said it was an "amazing tribute"
