A nice one this.

BBC News - US warplane named after Nottingham soldier L/Cpl Kieron Hill

"The mother of a Nottingham soldier who died in Afghanistan has said she "burst into tears" after a US warplane was named after her son.
L/Cpl Kieron Hill, 20, from Clifton, was killed by a Taliban bomb while on patrol in Helmand Province with the 2nd Battalion the Mercian Regiment in 2009.
The plaque in his honour has been put on an F-18 jet, part of the US fighter squadron, which is based on the USS Abraham Lincoln.
Vicki Holmes, L/Cpl Hill's mother, said it was an "amazing tribute"

it's very interesting to me that the tribute crosses national barriers. kudos to whoever on the lincoln was in charge of this, a pretty good tribute to our allies.
