Any of you have any experience having a shadow box made from online stores and if so, what were your experiences. Am considering having one made for my service and maybe have one made for my father and father-in-law who recently passed away. I've found several sites online who offer this service for a wide variety of prices. I want the flag, branch of service, duty stations/ships, war served, and medals awarded. I'm not in any rush so I'm not going to jump with the cheapest nor the most expensive. I tried the Navy Exchange and they said they only do this for active duty personnel or retired service members. They were my first choice since I trust them.

It has been my experience that the shops outside of military installations have a much better selection and can custom make one--- sounds as if you might need that based upon what you want to put in it. I think you'll also find that they are less expensive than what the Exchange sells them for, without sacrificing quality.

But if it needs to be from an online vendor, here is one that looks good.

When I retired I got mine from a local retiree who sold his stuff through the 'personalized services' kiosk near the exchange.
