Smile Sos

Since the first day of boot camp i always liked chipped beef on toast esp in the field on a cold day. I do buy a small pack of creamed beef made by stouffers at the supermarket when its on sale. I just nuke it & then pour it on 2 pieces of toast. It brings back the good & not so good memories of my tour of duty in the army. Anyone else like sos ?

I loved SOS and I haven't had any since 1960. I will give Stouffers a try. Is it as good as the real stuff?

I've had sos in my younger days in the military, but I prefer butter and jam on my toast.

Now, if you put gravy over biscuits, that would be better!

I loved SOS, but I can't make it at home because nobody around here sells chipped beef. I substitute hamburger for it, but it's not the same. However, it's a pretty good breakfast when paired with french fries. To hell with my cholesterol!

This is not as good as the real deal but its still good. A 11oz package costs around $3.00 or so. I buy it when its on sale which isnt often.

I haven't had it since I was a kid in the sixties. Dad was a Mess Sergeant in the Army. We had it every week. I liked it.

My Mom use to make it how her Dad had it in the Army. Corned beef in a jar, milk, flour, salt and pepper. Its basically a gravy. I have not had it in a long time....maybe I should make it for my family.
