Hi all, my fiancé just recently signed on with the NJ ANG, Security Forces at McGuire AFB. He leaves for basic training in February '13. He is thinking about doing CRG when he comes back. I was wondering if there is any type of housing allowance for this. Thank you!

For 30 consecutive days of duty, yes. He'll draw Basic Allowance for Housing. Once out of training, he's a probably drilling reservist.

If CRG is full-time active duty, he will get BAH for that. If it's a drilling reservist, you only get housing for 30+ days of consecutive duty.

Fiancee means nothing for housing allowance. The services only recognize actual marriages for pay purposes.

He won't receive BAH while he's at his initial training-- he will be living in the barracks.

CRG = Contingency Response Group.

If he's placed on Active Duty orders for more than 30 days, then he will draw standard BAH. He're the BAH calculator:
BAH Calculator

If he's placed on Active Duty orders for less than 30 days, then he will draw non-locality BAH. Furthermore it will be prorated for the number of days he's on orders. Here's the table:
