Pease AFB - Portsmouth, NH

Loring AFB - Limestone, ME - I always felt bad for the young Airmen who got assigned there, it truly was in the middle of nowhere in Northern Maine. Unless they were really into looking at potato fields!

For those of you who went through navy boot camp in San Diego. A lot of the old buildings have been preserved. Check it out if you are ever in town.

Many of the closed down posts in Germany (Schwabish Hall, Nurnberg, Augsburg Kasernes, Neu Ulm, Crailsheim) - lived at all of them, and now all of them have been closed for several years now.

While living in Montreal, I remember visiting Plattsburgh AFB, NY, just 60 miles to the south, on several occasions. I believe it closed in 1995.

Yes, it closed in 1995. The airfield is now known as Plattsburgh International Airport and is a county public use facility. I was there a few times in the late 80's when there was talk of it closing under BRAC and everyone said it would not happen...
