Eel's Hill in Milford. Went there a bunch in my younger years to explore. The hill and base still have all the same style and colored ranches inhabited and clustered there. used to be a Nike site, my parents remember seeing it when it was active and the Jeeps and other military stuff rolling around town.

What is now Cape Henlopen State Park at the mouth of the Delaware Bay was a major base protecting shipping during WW2. They have worked on a gun placement and have it on exhibit. There are still towers standing where they would watch for subs. Much of the operations were berried in sand dunes. There is a lot to see for history buffs in the state park.

Just looked at a Google Maps image of Sembach Air Base, east of Kaiserslautern. In 1987 I spent a few months there and it was a happening place, but now there's almost no sign any base was ever there, especially the missing airfield. Some hardened aircraft shelters but not much else.

Link: Sembach on Google Maps.

I remember lots of USAF bases closing in the UK during the 1990's - Bentwaters, Woodbridge, Upper Heyford, Alconbury, Greenham Common, Wethersfield etc etc

I found this video on youtube, in which an American based at Upper Heyford in Oxfordshire revisits the now defunct base in 2011, prior to new housing and redevelopment of the area.

MCAS El Toro. I was stationed at Pendleton when this base shut down. Definitely a sad day.
