Moffett Field.
Mare Island.
Hunters Point.
Treasure Island.
Rough and Ready Island.
Oakland Army Base.
Oakland Naval Supply Center.
Skaggs Island.
Hunters Point.
Presidio.
Fort Ord.
Hamilton Field.
Crissy Field.

...dozens more...bases, fields, centers.....on and on....

All the forts on Angel Island, and along the coast, the headlands.....hundreds of em'....all the ship yards gone...all the air bases in the valley abandoned...

Wonder if all our enemies have noticed how un prepared we are any longer...so completely hog-tied with politics we are...

Now when SECNAV or some other stuffed shirt or brass-hat shows up they have to call a freaking reserve center cuz thar aint nobody else left...

I was at RAF Bentwaters from 1975 to 1976 about 18 month. My last 3 months they had me on the alert pad. We watched movies all day, read and did a little work.

I spent two years at MCAS El Toro. Good times there. I joined the Aero Club and got my private pilot's license while stationed there.

Seneca Army Depot in Upstate NY closed shortly after the Cold War ended. Rumor had it, that was where the Army's tactical nukes were stored. Now home to a large herd of pure white (but not albino) deer.

Carswell AFB (now NAS JRB Fort Worth) is in Fort Worth/Lake Worth. The one at Grand Prairie is the former NAS Dallas, later known as Millenium Field, now closed but still home of the Grand Prairie Armed Forces Reserve Complex and a detachment of Texas National Guard and Singaporean CH-47 helicopters. LTV built aircraft there until the late 80s.

Oh, I remember marching up and down the runways at MCAS El Toro in California. We were getting ready for the Tournament of Roses Parade. San Diego, Camp Pendleton, and El Toro bands.
