Will I need a waiver for a mild case of a cured mild knee tendinitis?
I heard knee issues are usually a DQ but I've been overtraining lately
for the past months with daily T25, 5-7 mile runs and Insanity late afternoons.
If Xrays return to be 100% fine and just an inflammation and a certified physician
clearly clears me will I be fine?
Also, heard the horrifying MEPS DQ from other knee issues, mine is just so mild because I overtrain and try to beat myself heavily each day, especially with the addition of my Insanity training regimen program. Question also being, should I get evaluated with BOTH an orthopedist and physician so they can clear me faster at MEPS/DODMERB gwith these 2 professional outside opinions on my unusual knee pain or this a huge mistake?
I clearly know that the devil is always in the details and the Army right now acts like a big time for profit company even if it isn't, so how likely am I to be seen as a liability with MEPS? Is MEPS good when they have as much information as possible on my mild pain knee situation (not likely to have it anymore) or the less information the better?
My health comes first, so my intentions are getting a certified consult. I think the problem was mainly putting myself on those 5 finger vibrams in the last 2 weeks and running 5 miles below 41 minutes.
I am still thinking 12D MOS, so this is, among the many reasons, the reason I ask. Perhaps someone with lots of MEPS/DODMERB knowledge can step in and share some great insights.
Don't even mention it.. If they don't ask don't mention it..
I thought about that a lot, I did Xrays and collected Xrays yesterday before posting. Conclusions from Radiology reads; "The examination shows no osseous, articular or soft tissue abnormality. No fracture
or dislocation. Impression: Normal right knee x-rays."
Looking at the examination everything looks great and it's a one time thing, actually since I eliminated
my running with those Vibram 5 finger shoes everything became perfect with my running and I've not felt pain for close to a week now. I get a little paranoid(anxious will suit better) when it comes to my health and I do
routine check ups every single year for everything that might be off on my end, blood work check for the last 6 years consistently every year. Some call it being responsible, some call it excessive.
I am scheduled for a physician next week and everything has gone perfect with ice and ibuprofen without HIT exercise or excessive training on my end (which was usually T24, 5 mile run minimum and Insanity daily the last 2 weeks) ..
So even if this is a minuscule situation that shouldn't be a problem, if you're in and pass BCT and AIT with 270 (APFT) badge for passing APFT with 90+ on all scores and say, 9 years from now I get injured or something and they discovered I went to doc prior to enlisting..as a 1st lieutenant or Army captain what's the what's a likely scenario? DQ, suspension or elimination of benefits if I made it that far?
I am thinking to wait a few days before enlisting and swearing in, to get physician approval even if it may very well be the famous jumper's knee thanks to excessive training and the use of 5 finger shoes without proper training before wearing such shoes.
Just trying to see reality based on others experiences in the Army, if I should wait a couple more weeks I'll do just that.

Go now, get it over with. Either you have a problem or you do not. Just do not lie. Answer the questions...
I really do not understand your bolded paragraph... If you make it 9 years? You may be able to stay in depending on a lot of factors... I should hope you will not be a 1st lieutenant after nine years. If so, you would be having other problems...

jaja Poncho what's up my brother. 9-20 years as you know is a probability since 5 of 6 people who join the Army (according to a retired submariner and ex-officer) never make it to 20 years in the military. Actually depending the circumstances (trivia) I am hoping to make Captain in 5 years and a half if promotion lenght stay the same. Physician shortly, hate to guess when it comes to my body so indeed my brother Thx

I'm not going to argue those numbers. I will wager two cheap beers that the majority of people who enter the Army do not reach 20 years. But it is because many decide to get out. And all the services are probably similar...

I have not read through all your posts. You have it figured out how to get commissioned? Etc...
I'm walking out the door, thus the short response.

Oh yes, so far either 12C/12B/12D and SMP with a new $4,500 TA debt thanks to the latest 1 year delay with AIT..but ok I guess. Guess it probably means less amount of cadets graduating in 2016 with master degrees. Waiting for recruiter to start paper work. Non-scholarship graduate degree 2 year contract after ROTC easy and simple to convert here at P.R ROTC according to the cadre, starting August 2014 in ROTC. Oh here we go!

If you complain of current knee pain you're going to be disqualified immediately at MEPS. There is no wiggle room for someone currently experiencing knee pain no matter what any doctor certifies you as.
