Is there a primer for it? (I looked back quite a few pages)

I know I can't take the GF to on base housing like I stayed in when I was TAD down in Key West.
I googled and found the army vacation centers in Germany, Hawaii, Korea, etc, but I'm looking more "weekend getaway"

Was thinking about taking her to the Navy lodge at NAS Pensacola.
$65night, but although I've never stayed there, I've driven by it and IIRC it has access to the beach....
Better than a motel 6 in town....

I can't seem to find some compiled list....
When I was on active duty I'd see the jet Ski's for rent etc... Never had the time.

Now I have the time, and might as well see what's out there.

I know SOMEONE has a list...

Thank you

DOD Lodging

Your GF can stay with you in the lodges and cabin rentals. The Navy Gateway (usually used for TDY personnel) is for military and dependents only.

Navy Lodge is good for civilians, though, right? We have one in our base housing, and I was under the impression that civilians could stay there.

Possibly DoD Civilians.

What do you mean Civilians?

DOD Civs can stay there and all other recreational lodging. If you mean regular civilians, then no. The ones that do stay there have a sponsor. I sponsored my parents and got them a room before for one of my graduations.

Yeah, that's what I was wondering. A lot of parents stay at the Navy Lodge, here, since RTC is here. So, yeah, they'd have kids as sponsors. I never think about kids being sponsors, for whatever reason. But that makes sense.

And, there's a decent number of those parents who are military/retired military themselves, I guess.

Navy lodge at NAS Pensacola ended up being $78/night, (E-5 rate) but it was right on the beach.

Went to the smaller museum at the lighthouse (I'd just been there for medical and dropped in on the larger museum)
Worth seeing, we went up to 191 feet, but had to go down and stay on the beach for the Ble Angles (apparently the lighthouse viewpoint is booked months in advance.)

Got nicely sunburned... As was my intent (well, not so much that, but enjoying the near private beaches)

Went to the oar house in town... Was good.

Staff didn't/badly handled the baby that screamed for 8 hours inne next room.... I had to demand a different room, but they did it. (1/2 empty parking lot)

GF never even had to show ID

At Recruit training commands don't they allow families to use facilities on graduation weekend?
