I am going to school for civil engineering have a strong interest in joining the military after completion of my degree. I was curious is there a Civil Eng. Corp that is better to join? Does each Corp. have some similaritie, but vary in certain area's.
I am familiar with Army Corp. Of Engineer's, but that I think is more private government contractors separate from the Army not sure. Is there a difference between them and Army Civil Engineers?
I am familiar with Seabees through military documentaries. I read some info about the Corp. really does match my interest. However, heard Red Horse in the Air Force has better equipment and more updated not sure. Also heard skills learned from Red Horse company offer better transition to skills outside of the military.
I suggest that you locate the nearest Navy base, then google that 'base name' + 'SeaBee'. Or Army base + 'Corps of Engineers'.
Locate their office and phone number. Within minutes you could be speaking directly with the horse's mouth. Nobody will know the 'ins' and 'outs' of that career field, as good as the men doing it now. If you do this via a local base, then you could meet them over coffee in a few days.
