That was my favorite challenge there. "Make up the steps and I'll buy you a meal." They were always too exhausted to eat when they got to the top.

Back around 1973 I saw Richard Burton having lunch with Kim Novak there. Some kind of film festival in town.

Caracas Venezuela was one of my favorites. Man that was awesome!!!

Greece and Malta are great memories also.

I visited a few foreign ports but the best of them all was Albany NY. We took our boat (submarine) to Albany NY. Up the Hudson on the surface. On the way up and back pleasure boats followed, threw cans of beer to us, the woman flashed us. We almost ran aground........LOL

We were treated like Kings by the locals in Albany, including bars, restaurants, clubs, women, etc.

Never saw so many happy sailors in one place. Everybody found/got what they wanted.........LOL
