No, he is an AE (I think) aviation electronics. Were you just visiting or did you have someone in boot camp too?

I believe AE is "Aviation Electrician"

No, we were just visiting during our Thanksgiving trip to Illinois. My husband, a Senior Chief, used to instruct there.

Since rating titles are being phased out and replaced, people eventually won't be identified by their rating's two-letter prefix anyway.

I retired from the Navy and was an AT for 11 of my 26 years in the Navy.
