Hi, im trying to find information, and people with expirience in the question of: Can a military wife keep her citizenship with another country too or not. If I will marry with a army guy, I can be asked to have only US citisenship? Can such a thing badly effect him in his carrier in army? thank you.

Yes, you can retain your foreign citizenship in all cases--you will never be forced to give up your foreign citizenship.

But, yes, it may have negative consequences upon his ability to hold certain jobs requiring certain military clearances. Those, however, are in a very small minority of situations. If your citizenship is from a "friendly" nation, particularly one with a formal alliance with the US, there would probably never be any repercussions at all.

That's still going to affect only a quite small number of situations at the present time. Even during the Cold War, it would have been a matter of determining the circumstances of your immediate family in the Soviet Union./

Darochka, Privet! You can keep your citizenship. Even if you get U.S. citizenship, your Russian one does not automatically cancel. It is a big PITA to cancel that one; all sorts of loopholes, inconsistent laws, etc. It will have an effect on him, not necessarily negative, if he has to have a clearance. Depending on the level, he will have to provide information on you, your family, etc.

You're not joining. You're a free citizen. You could even be an illegal immigrant!
