I find it ironic that they joined the Marines to protect this country, but seemingly can't protect their own butts.....oops, I mean their good reputation.

Military personnel are 24/7. Owned and operating under the military sanctions and regulations. While they maintain citizenship they are doubly blessed with a system that requires orders and conduct in accordance. Sorry but the moment you enlist, you lose certain civilian priveldges...And get to be glorified for "serving" ..
These members who are adults ,carry the burden of justifying their antics.
And on a side note...Yes the military still is a boys club..And with it the unwritten rule...Boys will be boys..
I am discouraged to read some military females carry this absolution for the men involved...

It's really sick, and it amazes me how there are people that just wave it off as "boys will be boys" as well as saying things like "this is why women shouldn't be allowed in the military" as if it's their fault the guys can't control themselves.

From those here who have been in the military what is your take?

My take is that it's more identity politics manifesting itself in order to divide and conquer the sheep. It's all about power and control and intimidation and the like. It's about getting votes. It's about agendas for revolution and control.

Well. The Marine Corps should crack down on this behavior and punish the offenders. What we also see here is the gradual pornification of America. It seems perfectly acceptable to many men and women to pose for and expect that their sexually explicit pictures will be displayed all over the internet.

From 1987 to 1990 I served on a sub tender that had a small contingent of females onboard. One time two of those females made a VHS tape of themselves nude in an apartment. Copies of that VHS tape began to make rounds on the tender and eventually, the females were brought to Captains Mast. I remember they were busted, but I do not recall what exactly they were awarded. [Probably something like: forfeiture of half base pay for 30 days; reduction in rank; 30 days extra duty; and 30 days restriction on ship]

In that era it was seen as 'bad' for females to spread nude photos/videos of themselves.

It appears that in this modern era it is 'bad' for males to become exposed to nude photos/videos.

In these days of internet and social media, you know that any nude photo that is shared electronically in any way, can go everywhere, with just a click of the mouse. Better idea; don't take nude photos.

They are grown women and can do what they want to do. They didn't enlist because they are blushing virgins. The morality cops should just shut up and color.

It has nothing to do with morality police or being P.C.

The Marines hold themselves to a higher standard, not only among the other military branches, but among civilians as well. This kind of behavior is unacceptable anyway you look at it, and has absolutely zero to do with 'boys being boys.'

The only people that will excuse this type of behavior are people who never served in the Marines/military, or people who are clueless as to what the military is all about.

It does sound like they are busting the females for taking the photos/videos and supplying them.

They are busting males for viewing the photos/videos that the females supplied.
