This weekend we were in a store checking out and a couple of people were talking behind us and the daughter married a guy in the military. She gave out so much information that my husband turned around and told her I hope PVT xyz does good in medic school, that it is really warm there during that time of year and her mouth dropped open. They asked how he knew. His response was you gave it out. Then we walked off.
If a large scale movement is about to take place, many outside the military community are going to know about it pretty easily. These days, with the multiple communication channels in the world, it is hard to keep hush-hush.

If the military wanted to keep it a secret, they would have kept her son from communicating to the outside world. But when I was in, there were times that leaves got cancelled for training exercises.

And let's not forget how many times a person contacted those at home that "leave was cancelled" when they actually lost the airfare money in a poker game or they simple got tired of the ritual home appearance. People grow up rather fast and what they felt and was willing to do last year for those back home, may be 100% opposite this year.

Hahahaha this is funny right here. The people in the military are always told BUY REFUNDABLE tickets just for this reason right here. So good luck trying to get the military to reimburse because they won't.

UPDATE:

We found out this morning that the leave has been reinstated. No reason known, but the suggestion that it may have had something to do with the budget/government shut down funding bill may be correct.

Amazing, isn't it. Maybe I shouldn't have provided the UPDATE, as who knows what the heck that could have provided to inquiring ears? I'll wait for further admonishment with abated breath.
