It would not be the proposed shut down spending bill problem. When government shuts down, that does not effect the military as they can't just tell military personnel to go home and they are not being paid. They can't stop flying planes in war zones, and not protect military bases from attack. Essential services such as the military are not really effected. And leaves are not cancelled due to budget shut downs.

Wrong, while the military still goes on during the shut down their pay is technically suppose to stop .Each time in the past separate orders have been made to continue the military pay.

US government shutdown could impact defense contractors

Has there ever been a shutdown where the military pay stopped ?

If memory is correct,........"necessary services"...were always exempt and that certainly meant the military.

Leave has nothing to do with government funding. However training that involves travel does.

They have come super close. The only way the military will continue to get paid is if an EO is signed.
