This website will help you with all the information you need for getting your cat ready. She will have to be microchipped and have her shots up to date. It isn't really that expensive if you go to a base vet, but in town it can cost a fortune.
Good luck with everything and if you have any other questions, email me at auntie_chell at hotmail dot com. I'm Michelle.

Hi. My husband just got orders to Yokosuka, Japan yesterday. We will be headed over there sometime around October. We have a one year old daughter. I was just wondering whether it is better to live on base or off and I would love to hear from other people over there. I'm a little nervous since I won't know anyone there. Thanks.

Hello everyone I have been reading everyone's post and absorbing all the information. We are up for orders we are trying to decide between Japan and Guam, we have never lived overseas before, just finishing up a shore duty here in Nashville, well, shore duty for my children and myself, my husband has been in Iraq on an IA deployment. We will be moving in April 2010 if anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
CC

If anyone who understands and knows anything that could help me out before we move would be great!
Some questions that I have are:
Is it better to live on base or off?
Is there any way I can get a job out there that is english speaking?
Is it good to have a baby out there since I just found out that I'm pregnant?
Should we bring our cars out there?
What should be left at home and what can we get out there as in stuff for our house?
Pretty much just about everything I need to know, anything would really help!
Thank you hope to hear from some people soon!

We are currently stationed in Yoko, Japan my cell phone doesn't allow texts to the US, but I can call and email from my my phone to the US. A different plan or add on (or cell company) may allow that feature. I can tell you for sure that you are not allowed to ship reptiles...cats and dogs only after screening and quarantine reqs are fufilled. Hoep you have a pleasant day.
