I have a friend whose daughter went into the navy last year and LOVES it.

You did a great job raising your child mom! And thank your daughter for making this sacrifice. And he future service.

My DH and I were both Army MPs (we met in OSUT almost 32 years ago). I was medically retired and DH Retired at 23 years (his favorite post was that of DS - he graduated the first class when the MPs moved to FLW).

I hope she loves the Army and the MP Corps. Of the Troops and for the Troops!

I was not an MP but a logistics officer and I echo the above. I came in as a WAC at a time as a female college graduate I faced gender discrimination. When I was integrated into the regular Army I was given every opportunity to succeed and I am sure that your daughter will as well.

My only advice, from my troop leading days, is to trust in following the Army rules and procedures and to always use her common sense in personal and professional conduct. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't.

But you have probably told her that a million times. Good luck to her. And put in some extra miles running between now and basic. It is so much easier if you are athletic or a good runner

Congratulations ,my only comment is the at much of the MP work in all the arm force's has been outsourced and is now done by "private contractors".Not much room for advancement as an MP.

Congrats to her and something you can be very proud of.

I served a 26 year career in the Navy and my son did four years in the Navy. I tried to encourage my daughter to look into the military but she isn't buying it at all. She is only 18 and just graduating so there is hope still that she will take interest.

Best of luck to your daughter.

May I have inquire what sacrifices she is making ? Most who enlist look at the benefits and a pride to serve. Curious if you can share here this decision for her to enlist.

That is not going to have any impact on promotions at all.

Congratulations to your daughter.
