My husband is in DC today for a VA BoA hearing. He had been previously rated 40% between his knee injury, tinnitis and back injury. He had been denied for bilateral hearing loss, an eye injury which caused him to be legally blind in one eye and PTSD. Those were the decisions he was appealing. Even on ebenefits it shows that those were what he was denied for and are 'open' appeals. We obviously even checked this with the DAV and VA when we received the letter about his BoA hearing a few weeks ago.

So, he's there right now... and they think this appeal is about his knee, which was already approved over a year ago?

What on earth?

Sorry I just needed to vent. If it weren't so ridiculous it would be funny

Yes the VA and the claims department is a funny thing. I am waiting on my informal appeal on my knee. I got a 40% rating combined for tinnitus, and a shoulder injury but so far denied on my knee while having put in 38+ years in uniform. They said it wasn't service related. LOL. A shredded meniscus from years of abuse. Not an injury just physical abuse. I hope they come up with an answer soon. Tell your husband thanks for his service from me and best of luck.
