We saw this Sunday--
Very distressing and not the first one to reference PTSD and difficulties service people and their families face
(In the Valley of Elah was another I thought was excellent)..
Thought the acting in this was very good but have no contact with anyone who has served and suffered these problems
Has anyone seen the movie?
Was it an accurate view or did you think it took liberties w/issues
The movie itself was based on real Army soldiers who served about 10 yrs ago but the movie was more current day setting...and from what I read the situation regarding treating PTSD disabilities and other physical effects of tours in the Middle East--especially multiple deployments--is still underfunded, under recognized, and under served...
If there is any other ground action that develops in Africa or heaven forbid Korea do you think the military --especially the ground forces--would be hard pressed to meet the demands?
