I've had some pretty bad luck on the side finding a job. I looked into becoming an Officer and I hear it is pretty backed up, like people getting in now dont ship till 2019. Something which doesnt appeal to me. What would occur if I were to join the AF with a Masters, would I start out as a basic airman or have a few ranks under my belt?

You would start as an E3. What is your Master's in? There may be some in-need things you can do. Is it an MBA? If so, looking into MSC officer vs regular officer.

Otherwise, there are lots of enlisted people with Master's degrees- although most earn them later.

You should calculate your earning potential. It might be more beneficial in the long run to wait until 2019.

Masters of public administration, the public sector version of an MBA.

Have you talked to an Officer Selection recruiter? If not, get yourself to one today, right now.

No offense to the mustangs but having a MPA and going in enlisted is a waste of material at both ends of the equation, for both you and the Air Force.

Also, check the Navy.

Be a pilot then. Seriously, the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

More seriously, check the Navy.

Full disclosure, I was Navy and was one of those who had the most fun you can have with your clothes on.
