Iím single and I donít have any medical or legal issues that would hold me back from getting into the military. Thank for the advice and Iím going to start the process of getting my stuff together so I can join!

I got out of the AF 46 years ago after four years so I doubt anything I could offer would be helpful. However, if anything remains the same, I agree with those here who say, sell your car if you have no place to store it very cheaply and safely and join the AF in CT.

After the service I used the GI Bill to finish college, then finished a career with the Federal government where I saved and invested from day one to retire the same day as I turned 50.

Many years ago, someone once told me, "You won't need a car in the Air Force." In 1968 I sold my then beautiful 12-year 1956 Ford Fairlane and have regretted it since. The first thing I needed after basic at Amarillo and tech training at Sheppard AFB was a car.

BTW, if Texas is where life takes you, welcome. It was the home of my birth and is where my ashes will rest.
