So... with the government shutdown looming toward happening Friday, what happens if I have (home station) drill Saturday morning? When I was active duty I just remember there being a delay in pay. Is it the same situation with that national guard?

Your unit should provide the latest information on drill status. You don't have to "go it alone."

With reserves, last shutdown, the command communicated that it would be postponed. I anticipate the same.

Our sister unit had a muta 4 during the last shutdown in January and they didn’t get any information from battalion until minutes before formation. Their training schedule was postponed and they were all sent home. I found this out shortly after making this thread.

Looks like we’ll be in similar straits.

In the guard it comes from the full time staff for the state and will be transmitted to the units on any logistic issues. Generally it is conducted provided logistics have been put in place but if it cannot be conducted it is made up in the upcoming months. What state?

I believe he is talking about the federal shutdown which could affect his drill.

Not so much on the pay issue but on logistics to the training events. We have had drill postponements once I believe. Then the last shutdown the guard put particular jobs at JFHQ dealing with ensuring food and transportation issues are not problems by making them shutdown proof.

I wasn't aware of any impending federal government shutdown.

They are about to pass the budget so the shutdown will be averted. However there have been three postponements of that shutdown in the last year.
