Hey everyone, title says it all.
Been in for 4 years, was AF, then switched to Army Reserves now.
I really want to go airborne in a year or so, but I've been reading its very hard to get a slot in the Reserves unless you're with an Airborne unit (which I'm not, and I dont think there's one near me). I'm willing to switch to MN or ND National Guard and switch MOS's if it helps me get a slot, just don't know of any units in these states give slots for it or not.
Anyone have advise or a way to get a slot or what to do? (No, I can't go active)
Thanks!!

I might be a bit biased but look at the guard unit option. First off I will disclose that I spent 30 years in the Army Guard. However my real reason for preference is the deploy with your friends and neighbors. Guard units are uniquely local to the state for the most part, though you might get some bleed over to neighbor states. In a reserve unit you individually are subject to be tagged to be wherever you are needed and not necessarily the unit you're assigned.

I hope you get to do what you want. Good luck.
