This is something Donald Trump's "Space Force" can watch for, and learn to do something about when they aren't worrying about Chinese and Russian satellites.

Maybe it's time to get serious about protecting civilization from asteroid strikes. And, who knows, maybe eventually we can pay for the system with minerals extracted from the asteroids.

I think that Trump is just trolling Putin ( before their meeting next month) like Regan trolled Gorbachev in the 80's with "Starwars". Gorbachev was pretty freaked out about it. Lol

We discovered in the 90s that Yuri Andropov had realized by 1980 that the US had won the Cold War. Andropov truly believed that the US could launch a nuclear strike and prevail with what old Soviet hardliners like him considered "acceptable losses." And Andropov truly believed in his heart that Reagan would do it (a point that got very scary some moments, such as during EXERCISE ABLE ARCHER 83).

It was Andropov who brought Gorbachev from the Soviet political fringes and put him into the line of succession as the relatively cosmopolitan Soviet politician who might be able to cut a deal with the West as the Soviet Union finally puttered out. Gorbachev wrote in his autobiography that when he was finally allowed to see the true state of the USSR, his first thought was, "My God, what did they think they were doing?"

I don't think Putin is as "trollable" as Andropov or Gorbachev, simply because Putin doesn't believe Russia is on the losing side as they knew the USSR was.

Lets see, that was the normal for all the trek back histories, some before the birth of Star Fleet and some after. So, will these new cadets be more like the experiment or the new command in the latest web based trek show. Except their arms are WAY to advanced for then, so somehow there is a time shift element involved. And Gene Roddenberry who wanted them to be peace makers would not approve.

So there could be one form who tried out the new toys, and another who found uses for them?

But you just GOTTA call them Space Cadets.

There's an enlisted Space Force enlisted rank insignia chart out there. Someone with more time on their hands than I have might want to post it! Kind of funny.
