Does anyone have memories of their ship being docked at Dunoon Scotland in the late 60s... I remember some from the Simon Lake who went to our Glasgow dance hall the Locarno.. and wondered if anyone has stories to tell of that time...

I was a crewman on a sub that used to surface in Holy Loch for re-supplying and repairs, from 1978 until 1983.

Then I served on the Simon Lake in Holy Loch from 1987 until 1990. I owned a home in SandBank Dunoon during that period of time.

I have only made a small few trips over to visit Glasgow. I do not remember the Locarno [sorry].

I had heard of it though, it sounds like it was a hopping joint.

I was on the Hunley right after it left! I really wish I had gotten there sooner. I heard some good stories about Scotland!

Each sub that I served on has re-unions. Even the sub-tenders have Facebook groups and re-unions.

It is great to see all the photos that people have from their tours.

Using social media, we have been able to get re-connected with many old friends that we have had over the years.

When we lived in Scotland, we had five apartments filled with tenants, and I remember that my wife operated a catering business. A few months ago, a woman contacted me via Facebook and said that she remembers us as her landlords when she lived in Scotland and that my wife catered her wedding. I do not remember catering any weddings specifically, but it may have happened. I asked my wife and she says that she remembers catering a wedding. I do not think we are very close to the girl, but it was nice to look through her photos from that era.
