Let me introduce myself. I have been commissioned for a book-length project surrounding the capture and subsequent interrogation of the Iraqi dictator. If you were on the team that captured the dictator, oversaw his internment, or otherwise had conversations with him, I would like to discuss your impressions and experiences either via correspondence or over the telephone.

Please PM at your convenience. Thanks in advance.

If you find someone willing to talk to you, they either weren't really there or they aren't afraid of the ramifications.

Try Carlisle Barracks Archives at Army War College/Senior Service College. Also Military History Center (I think at Ft Lee, VA).

Contemporary and Source Material should be available there.

Plenty of heavily-redacted material out there. A really good book on the subject is Debriefing The President: The Interrogation of Sadaam Hussein, by former CIA analyst, John Nixon. I'm also working my way through How To Break A Terrorist by Matthew Alexander. But I'm looking more for background at this point. My interviews begin mid-January.

When you get the book published come back to this thread and give us an update. I would be interested in what you find and interested in the reading of the book.

I was present in Iraq during the time we captured him. My unit was stationed at Talil AFB, LSA Adder May 03 to April 04.

Thanks. I'll be happy to. It's a very interesting assignment to say the least.

"The Prisoner in His Palace" was pretty good, but the scope was pretty limited and was really focused on his life awaiting trial and relationships with the guards.

Sorry, I was more in reference to the capture. For a while it was all non-disclosure stuff. May be more open now.
