They look good to me! Retired from U.S. Army in 1990...
I like this retro uniform because of it's sharp military bearing and tradition. However, the summer version of this uniform during the 40's and into the 50's was a long sleeve shirt and tie. Do you know what the Army has proposed for a summer dress uniform when the coat isn't practical or necessary? A short sleeved khaki shirt with olive drab trousers would work but of course some people will complain that it too closely resembles the Marine Corps "Charlie" uniform.

I don't know. I don't think everything is finalized yet...
When I enlisted in 1957 we had what we called The Ike Jacket in OD as our class A uniform. Went to Korea, turned in the Ike Jacket. 15 months later, returned from Korea and we were issued the green suit, I hated it.
During the15 months in Korea, we also changed from brown boots to black boots. The PX sold a ton of black shoe dye.
Almost the same story. Issued the dress greens in 1960. It was a toss up to get either the brown or black boots, lucked out and got black. Spent Jan 61 to Jun 63 in Germany and after the Wall went up in Aug 61 I don't think we ever wore the dress uniform except the time JFK came to visit. The military always finds a way to spend money.

I would imagine that the "pinks" uniform trousers would be worn with the green jacket or the short sleeved shirt. I was among the last soldiers issued that trouser and shirt combo and never wore it. And remember the last day when a few wore their's in honor of the passing
I'm retired, so I really don't have a dog in this fight. But!! "I" think it seriously sucks and a total waste on money that could be better spent. I truly respect the connections to the past, especially with the "Greatest Generation" and their test by fire in WWII and Korea, but I think that the Army should move forward to the future, not the past with an almost direct copy of an uniform style that's 70 plus years old. "I" personally like the current Class A uniform in Blue since it respects the past, present and the near future. Also, I'm not current with uniform regulations, but with the current blues, to make it a formal Dress Uniform, it just needs the enlisted or officer ceremonial belt AND the current blue service hat for ALL ranks, which would save money in the long run.
With that said, I think that the current Class B uniform, blue paints and white shirt sucks too... I'm not crazy about the white shirt at all and to me, IMHO, they should have went either with a grayish-Khaki/stone or a basic khaki colored shirt, which would have been the best choice... I know the Khaki shirt would be Marine-ish, but screw it!! The gold strips on the legs, NCOs/Officers, a blue service hat or beret would make it stand out as a Army uniform.
More important, save millions and millions of tax payer's dollars and ease the burden on soldiers, especially in the lower enlisted ranks the stress to buying replacement new styled Class A/B uniforms, which are not worn that often by most of the Army. IMHO, their yearly uniform allowance could be better spent on field uniforms, good boots, work/combat gloves and maintainance of these uniforms.
The Sergeant Major of the Army said the blue uniform makes "people think you're a cop." Really? I've never heard of this. I guess he would know, but it seems to be the blues are most 'historic' uniform with the longest tradition.
What's interesting is that Aside from a press conference or press coverage of something like a graduation or funeral, I can't say that I've ever seen a Cop in their dress uniform. That includes friends that are LEO's. Servicemen, yes.

U.S. Army recruiters are starting to show off the service's new World War II style service uniform as Army officials make final tweaks to the classic uniform.
The Army has begun fielding more than 200 sets of the new Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) to recruiters and other soldiers who will participate in a limited user evaluation to make sure the new two-tone uniform is ready for its planned fielding to new soldiers in 2020.
Maybe it's the camera angle, but those hats...Geeze!
