This is gonna sound crazy, but I'm 46 and thinking of joining the AF. I have a college degree and have always been intrigued by the idea, but the official cutoff age is 39. My childhood buddy is a colonel at Maxwell and when visited him this summer I was very intrigued, yet again.

"To join as a healthcare, law or ministry professional, you cannot be younger than 18 or older than 48 years of age."

I do not think they allow exemptions.

Are you a doctor, lawyer or looking to be a chaplain? Perhaps. But not to be part of a crew that does rapid runway repairs or maintains aircraft.

Does the Air Force need civilian healthcare, legal and ministry professionals?

Quote:
Yes. To meet the needs of the Air Force mission, we seek healthcare, legal and ministry professionals who wish to join the Air Force after having gained specialized, professional skills. This option is attractive to those who want to take their practice—and life path—in a whole new direction.

I have about 10 years of recruiting for the Air Force. No. No age waiver is possible. I'm sorry.
