I’m confused as to what a “reconnaissance specialist” is in the US Army? Dude looks like a box kicker to me.

That would unnecessarily kill several trees. Not worth it.
Why try to reverse his life CHOICE.
Maybe he doesn't want to come back. Anyone asked him?

North Korea has confirmed they have him AND they have begun the propaganda.

Quote:
North Korea asserted Wednesday that a US soldier who bolted into the North across the heavily armed Korean border last month did so after being disillusioned with the inequality of American society and racial discrimination in its Army.

It’s North Korea’s first official confirmation of detention of Private 2nd Class Travis King, who entered the North while on a civilian tour of a Korean border village on July 18. He became the first American detained in the North in nearly five years.

For all the latest headlines follow our Google News channel online or via the app.

The North Korean official news agency, KCNA, said King told investigators that he had decided to enter North Korea because he “harbored ill feelings against inhuman mistreatment and racial discrimination within the US Army.”

North Korea has decided too... Kick him out. No word on where he will be expelled to.

So much for those who said he was "going to be a NK movie star and get a wife."

Quote:
North Korea will expel Travis King, an American soldier who entered the country in July after running across the heavily fortified demilitarized zone during a border visit with a tour group from South Korea.

It is unclear when King will be expelled or where he will be sent to after.

He probably wasn't "properly" behaving there.

Note:
In recent years, a number of American citizens who illegally entered North Korea - excluding those convicted of criminal activity there - have been freed within six months.

Yes, I seen that he will be kicked out of North Korea. I’m assuming they will take him to the DMZ and then push him over the line?

I guess the North Koreans determined that they didn’t need him, that he wasn’t a big enough propaganda asset?

It seems odd that he wasn’t able to convince the North Koreans that he was worth staying? Maybe they got tired of his poor attitude too?

He’s trouble and they don’t want him. Back during the Korean War and later North Korea had a number of American deserters who spent years in country doing propaganda work, married and had children. Back to the US and military prison.

I agree with what you posted here. But I would like to know why the North Koreans used to allow deserters to stay, but now they don’t. I don’t get what has changed from their perspective?

It seems like they could’ve had this kid on state run tv, talking about how bad the US is in regards to race and that would’ve been a win for them.

Of course, anybody who has spent time in Korea understands that racism is actually worse there than it is in the US.

Maybe because he is black, the North Koreans didn’t want him?

Imagine being such a loser that even North Korea doesn't want you.
