I spent almost 5 months in Bosnia and that was the most fun and rewarding. Best part was I was military, but not wearing a uniform or getting haircuts. Only bad thing about it is most of it never happened.. I had a pretty fun spec op on a 688 that never happened either I don't know why anyone would believe we spent 42 days doing training ops off the coast of San Diego and somehow everyone came back Shellbacks..

I haven't visited near as many countries as Rathagos but those that I have visited are: Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Samoa (western) and have lived in Saudi Arabia and am presently living in the Philippines.

My favorites, guess it is obvious, is Philippines. Simply love the people, customs and the food. A close second would be Taiwan. And the worse place... SAUDI ARABIA.

I visited a few: Iceland, England, Spain, Norway, Saudi Arabia, One of the Stan countries above Afghanistan (bullets all over the place), Puerto Rico, Panama, Colombia and Brazil and almost all the Central America countries.

The Best was Panama, stationed for 4 years and had the opportunity to go TDY all over the region. Back in the mid 80 was dirt cheap and we lived like royalty. Had a live in maid and gardener, $20 of seafood will include snapper, lobsters, shrimp, and limes...

But honestly this was a well kept secret that Noriega ruined for all the military members. Panama had bases for all four services, only a small amount of locations had this privilege and made our life's a lot easier and flexible to receive services. Actually the Army had posts on the west and east side of the country. We had access to the Caribbean sea and the Pacific ocean.

I would have to say Okinawa and Japan (4 years each). Although Hawaii isn't another country, that was nice too (4 years). Also visited Philippines and South Korea many times. The worst...Saudi Arabia...but interesting experience.

I did my tour exclusively in Europe, and while I loved Germany, I rather enjoyed my deployment to Skopje, Macedonia.
