Default Someone from Finance report to this thread ASAP!

and don't forget to give your reporting statement j/k

No but I have a serious question. I'm in the process of PCS'ing to a remote (Korea) and understand that I will lose my BAS but what I'm really concerned about is my BAH. Will I lose this while I'm gone or will it stay the same until my tour is completed? I currently receive the dependent rate.

Thanks in advance

Nauticadon, my info is only current as of 1980... But when I was at lovely Kunsan-by-the -Sea, I had a meal card as a SSgt because I lived in the dorm. I didn't get BAQ because I was single. We did have some personnel that lived off base and got both. I'm sure things are different nowadays and your local commander probably makes the decision, as well. (and I would imagine that you could contact your sponsor or gaining unit, too) Best of luck!

Thanks Crew Chief. It honestly hasn't changed much in the last 29 years.

I suppose I could have asked my local finance but the way things are nowadays I'd get a faster response from a complete stranger online than from someone in a uniform who does this all day.

If you are married you will get BAH for rate of the zip code were your dependents will live while you are in Korea. You will lose BAS, gain Family Separation pay $250, and some cola but not much.
