Saw this video on my iPhone and I could see he was fake. Five gold hash marks on a guy who might be around 25 years old with gold teeth.

Dang, I saw the video and the two Marines (civvys) gave him the 3rd degree.

I was Army but any person who ever served honorably would be able to know the truth.

Hash marks?....Insignias wrong....Ribbons/Medals.....nothing in proper order.

An Insult to the Marine Corp and all who served.

One thing for sure was his age....he must have enlisted in some Army (his own) right out of grade school.

In the Navy we call those stripes at the bottom of the sleeves "hash marks". One for four years service.

Unless the fake is committing fraud by trying to get money or position, its none of my business. Often there behaviors will give them away. Why is it in our country we are so worried about others getting something we don't. I say have your own personal honor and that will take you anywhere. People who pretend to be vets etc, would never understand why this would make anyone who served angry. If they understood the commitment, hardwork etc they wouldn't do it in the first place. This is why getting in there face or getting angry is a waste of time.

Off topic, the big thing i miss now that im a vet is how disciplined i was in the service and how easy you can lose it in civilian life.

Wearing a cap with a Logo or a T-shirt spelling out something is NOT the same as a person wearing a Uniform that depicts an actual Military service as with that person who was slandering the US Marine Corp with his outlandish display.

I can wear my WW11 or Korea cap with pride and can prove my time of service if asked.....full uniform today....Nah, I'm too old for that.

Yes, the uniform is wrong for an NCO in Army Dress Blues, his infantry insignias are for officers so is the U.S. on the lapels. If you the medals on your dress uniform you don't wear the ribbon bar. Yep, some wrong with that picture.

As a teenager I once wore my dad's Navy cruise jacket. When asked, I told the person it is my dad's jacket and he went to the places listed. For me, it was a way of honoring my dad. I suspect that some fake veterans do this in the hopes of getting free food/drinks and or money. At the very least, that is fraud.

Did you catch his rank insignia? You'd think a sergeant major would know better.
