Yeah OP, ensure you are there for his family -- phone call away or not. And like Coolhand said, care packages, letters, etc..it's a big deal to the deployed folks, esp. when they are in a bare base. It will be one less thing to worry about while he's gone when he knows that his family is cared for, and that you guys are thinking of him.
