It's on the educational website which also list colleges that participate. While most colleges will accept a certain number of CCAF credits, a lot do not accept all of them. You also have to apply to every school to determine how many credits transfer. The ABC program is school will accept 100% of CCAF credits.

I have mine. Easy and free, worked on it while in Korea. Helped keep me out of trouble.
Then once you get it keep going for a Bachelors, and you will be done before you know it.

NO regrets about getting mine; Even though an "Aircraft Maintenance Technology" Associates degree wasn't relevant as such to trucking. the general knowledge education helps no matter what you do in life. Also, I heartily endorse all the other posts above; you'll NEVER go wrong in getting a CCAF (or two!)

Thanks. I will pursue in getting mine.
I'm now wondering which is better....taking classes online or going to a local small school set up outside of base for military personnel?
I made a new topic asking that question, found here: http://www.city-data.com/forum/educa...l#post11480159

CLEP it
Don't forget CLEPS etc. You'll be amazed at how much general education material you already know.
After procrastinating for years, I completed mine in 5 DAYS with CLEPs alone. (And that was overkill - I took 3 tests in every subject area, hoping I might pass one out of three, and ended up passing them all, so I had tons of extra credits available).
At least give it a try - it doesn't cost anything but an hour of your time.

Thanks. You know I didn't consider the CLEPS. You think I should just try that before trying out any schools?
(sorry I don't know much about all this school stuff so I gotta start somewhere)

Absolutely.
I made everyone that worked for me try it, (and they all got their degrees). What procrastinators (like me) usually say is they're studying for this or studying for that, or contemplating a class etc. etc. My reply is "Fine", just take the CLEP for whatever class you're thinking about and if you don't pass, you can still take the class. If you do pass, then take the CLEP for the next class you're thinking about. Next thing you know, you're done!
There are study aids available too, if that would make you more comfortable.
BTW, your degree doesn't specify whether it was obtained by Class, computer, or CLEP, or any combination of them, so give it a try.

With CLEPS/DSSTs, if you fail, you can retake the test 180 days later. My suggestion is to not take any classes and do a complete Clep/dsst blitz. Study for a the cleps, there are free study guides both online and on at the base library, there are also some great PAY sites that spoon-feed you the exact info. After the test, if you do get your score or get your score and fail, immediately write down everything you can remember. Excellent guide for next time.
Once you've taken every clep on your degree plan, take any class that doesn't have a clep. 180 days later, reblitz the cleps you didn't pass.

Deez- Please visit your education center on base. They will help you sort through all this stuff and they can tell you specifically what classes or cleps you need. It's a personal choice, online or in class. If you have difficulty self motivating, then go in class. If you are going to have trouble finding time and patience to sit in night classes, try online, just remember that it takes a little more self discipline online. I personally always choose online classes, except for Math, because math is my weakness and I need to see an instructor doing it on the board. With online classes, you basically teach yourself with some guidance and help from the instructor, but it's hard to have an instructor explain a complex math problem via email, and sometimes you have to wait a day or two for an answer to your question.
I've found with online classes, you have written homework due every week, multiple assignments each week. With inperson classes, you have 1 paper, and the final. Online are more work, but they still take less time then spending 4 hours in class every week.

i CLEPed several courses "blind" (never cracked a book open to study, if the subject sounded interesting enough, i dove right in) and passed them all. do i recommend that? no, but i figured, it's free and if i could get some credit: BONUS!! i completed my CCAF without knowing it: i was inprocessing at my last assignment when i was informed that i had completed it 5 years prior!! LOL.
i found CLEPing was a great way to kill time while on deployment, too. the gym and bingo only went so far.
