This unfolding story is a shocker. I'm wondering, if this guy was the lone gunman, how he could kill or wound over 40 people on a huge military base with thousand of combat troops all around ?

All the shooting took place at the Soldier Readiness Center which holds hundreds of people and is one of the most populated parts of the base.

Prayers for those involved...the dead and the wounded, their families. Still more prayers for those who witnessed and responded.

...there are things on his computer...could be considered a terrorist attack, maybe a psychological break... rumor and hearsay and bits of truth... Some day we'll know something that sounds like the truth. It'll take a while.

I have a few friends who work in psych; they're all nuts. When I heard about this, my first and second thought was that it was a psych who broke. He is supposed to "patch people up" so that they can go on another tour...maybe that was a problem for him. I surely don't know; I'm frequently wrong...

I have to say that FOX news broke most of this hours before anyone else. The others might have been to concerned with his muslim background and not offending muslims. But FOX also reported the muslim -american assocaitions statement that no religous or politcal belief could justify such a horrible act too.Even his cousin called FOX news on the air.HYe seemed to thing the murderer was harrassed by his fellow soldiers was his problem. Seems a much different picture going back to college days is emerging tho.

CNN is reporting that a female MP, herself shot and wounded, shot the suspect 4 times. Fox and MSNBC are both reporting about the suspects troubling postings on the internet and that the FBI was investigating him.
