This movie sucked... the actors sucked.... and the storyline was not that good... You shouldnt be so in-love with someone if you are going to choose the military over them... and then keep rejoining and expect them to understand and wait for you. They made a decision that he was getting out in one year and they would be together forever after that.. He changed his mind... rejoined and should have expected the result that was given to him. And yeah.... the ending was horrible + it didnt really clarify if they ever just remained friends or got back together. Not really worth even seeing.. Im sure most people only watched the movie because of its relation to the popular "notebook" love story.

The movie was okay...more of a "chick" flick..The scenery was great, and the GI's father was an interesting character...I would have hoped the movie would expand on his character (Was he a Vietnam Vet?, what happened to his wife, etc).

In the scene where the GI was on leave because of his Dad's death, where he went to see the girl, I noticed that his SSG insignia was upside down on his green shirt...that kinda detracted from the role he played to me...whoever the military adviser was on this movie missed this one.

I'm glad they finally got together (reminded me of ole Forrest Gump).
