My name is Doug Sporer and I was assigned to the HQ & A co. 123 maintenance battalion, Monteith Barracks in 1972. I worked in the upstairs of the warehouse which supplied to 1st armored div. with tank parts etc. There was a pizza place across from the main gate I think it was called Mikes Pizza. I ate a lot of pizza from Mikes, those munchies!!! I was honorably discharged in 74. Give a holler if anyone was there during this time and maybe we know each other.

Smile Awhile ago...

I was in Furth - Montieth Barracks - in the mid 1950s. Was in college through 1954. Was 1st on the local draft list after that. Gave up and ended in the medics. Became a clerk in a medical company motor pool there. Medical Company 39th Inf Regt. Was fine duty - we had the wheels.
Chanced on this site when searching for "Montieth." I have a bunch of old slides I have recently looked to.
Many labeled Montieth. I had forgotten what that meant although it seemed that it refereed to the dormitory like building in some of the pics background.

We would get beer with a deuce and a half, stand on the rear bow, and pass it through the second story windows....
