Default Favorite Duty Station?

I don't have much experience yet with Army posts, but I've fallen in love with Fort Carson. Plenty of things to do in and out of Colorado Springs and Denver is only an hour away. The housing is either new or recently renovated, which is awesome to say the least. The Springs is definitely not dependent on the military, a refreshing change from Benning and Lost in the Woods. I've never seen an Army post this nice, of course that could be because I've only been to the crappy TRADOC posts beforehand.

I started out in Savannah...1989..did not like the place, to man y snad nats...

Then to Alaska, Ft Wainwright 92-94...loved it there, housing was o.k.

Then to Carson from 94-95...great place but EXTREMELY expensive...

95 - 99 Ft. Campbell...did not live on base but that town is also dependant on the base...

99 - 2000 I was in Korea...

2000-2005 Ft. Rucker...new homes and they sucked....eneded moving off post..

05 -09 Korea...absoutley loved it...even my wife and son loved it...Korea was great for me and my family...I did get to see a lot of Koera (more than most) because I flew over it in the back of Chinooks on a daily basis...

Carson is nice. Especially if you like the outdoors and snowboarding / skiing. However, CO Springs is not the best place to live in CO. The city is broke

Unfortunately that's where I live now. lol

Schofield Barrack Hawaii was and is the best Duty station I have ever served at . And Rota Spain is running a great second place, mainly because all the beaches in Spain are topless.

Y'all know the best assignment was: "The base you were at before this one. And the one that you're PCS-ing to next"...

Crew Chief-then when the new troop inprocessed we had to listen to all the stories of the past assignment. I always found that phenomenon to be funny. Even funnier, because I did same thing as the "new troop." Very true!

My favorite was Ft. Lewis, WA. Not because it was so nice, but because that's where I ETS'd from when I got back from Vietnam.

Ohh, what a nice place!
