Hello everyone,

I have a friend who has a job offer from Quad Graphics. She's from out of town. She asked me if I've heard anything. I really can't tell her much about it. I do recall in college there was an intern who was very unhappy there. Does anyone know what their work environment is like? What kind of culture do they have?

Thank you in advance.

Default Quad Work Environment

Quad is a tough place to work long-term. You have to wear uniforms - navy blue with your name tag embroidered on your shirt. Very much like a service station employee.

Also, many positions require rotating shifts - and that means 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am. Shifts rotate yearly.

And finally, I worked at the Sussex facility and for most of us, it's quite a hike!

If you want to work there, you gotta believe in the religion of QUAD!!

Thank you for your reply. I was wondering if anyone would answer.

My friend would be working in the professional building. She wouldn't have to worry about uniforms.

I've been doing my own research for her. I've found a number of bad posts about the work environment. It doesn't sound like a good work environment. One place that I found stated that the pay wasn't competitive. They also stated that advancement was not good either. I did notice that they are not listed as one of the best places to work. I think I may have to warn my friend.

Does anyone else have any opinions?

Thank you again.

I have a friend that has worked there for as couple of a long time and he really likes it there. He does the rotating shift thing, but I don't think it is yearly. I know he has made a lot money being there, and he has passed up a few advancement opportunities since he likes the shift work.

Does the line below sound familiar? There is still discrimination in the workplace, no matter who a woman works for.

Hours. Lack of advancement opportunities for females.

Quad layoffs:
Quad/Graphics to lay off 140 more employees - The Business Journal of Milwaukee

Whom is your friend replacing? Possibly a laid off worker? And why? Layoffs usually means cutback measures, e.g., pay for certain employees was too high, lack of positive production, etc..

I heard that U.P.S. will be hiring 50,000 people.
